Broken can be repaired.

I just came back from a beautiful sermon at church today. The Pastor titled his sermon: Worshiping God in your weakness. I can unashamedly say that I have found this to be one of the hardest things I can tell someone to do. One of the hardest things anyone can tell me to do and the hardest thing to actually do. How do you worship God when you have nothing? When your world is turned upside down, how do you worship God?

Well, there are scriptures I can share with you from todays sermon but one that stands out is 2Corinthians 12:9 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” There are a million explanations I can try and give to explain what this verse means but I think it is pretty clear and you are welcome to have your own interpretation.

With all this said, I feel the need to remind you that we are brought into this earth for a purpose, if you are still alive then the purpose has not yet been fulfilled. All the trials and tribulations? All the storms and heavy rains you have encountered in your life? The suicidal thoughts? it is not over for you. The purpose has not been fulfilled, you are needed to fulfil your unique purpose. It is yours and yours alone, no one can do what you were created to do. Every time you feel like giving up look first at how far you have come, and then look at the situation again did you come this far to give up here and now?

When all is said and done, the pieces need to be picked up. People often say you need to “pull yourself together”. Well, child our Maker is here to do exactly that, to fix us and put us back together. We stumble and fall we are not broken, we fell but we will not be buried here, if we still have the desire to move on and move forward, if there is still a heart beating in us then we are not broken. Even if we were, with God broken pieces can be repaired.

Closing quote: “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have”
